Tracking of social media users – legal minefield or walk in the park?

A walk in the park is not how we would describe this area but perhaps we wouldn’t go so far as calling it a minefield either. But how can you market your services by the use of social media targeting services? Are you allowed to use cookies for this kind of tracking? In which situations do you need a cookie banner on the website? These and more questions will be discussed by our expert panel during this webinar which especially focuses on the recently published guidelines on the targeting of social media users from the European Data Protection Board (EDPB).

The webinar will also highlight the challenges in both complying with the new guidelines and GDPR as well as requirements according to Swedish law, e.g. the requirement to gather consent for marketing according to the Swedish marketing legislation (“marknadsföringslagen”). The Swedish Trade Federation through Sofia Stigmar will give their view on the new guideline from EDPB and how companies are using targeting services in practice.
